Low profile van ventilator adaptor
To solve this i’ve designed an adaptor that gives you
A grill to cover up the fan blades
Threaded holes to fit the fan onto
A landing area for the roof lining
A space piece to cover up my dodgy trimming of the roof lining
The original design was a 3 piece affair as I didn’t have a printer large enough to print the whole thing at once. The current version is made in one piece.
This is the bottom side of the fan adaptor.
The blue ring is a separate piece to cover up my dodgy trimming
When adapting vans into being a dog van for our dogs we have purchased a low profile electric fan.
It is an excellent product but it isn’t the prettiest of things from underneath as there is no grill, so it is just the blades. This just isn’t good enough for dogs of our standard (and they are Great Danes they’ll get their tongue/ears stuck in them)
Add in insulation and a roof lining then the standard fitment isn’t really good enough.
With a side bonus of the standard fitting for the van is screws into the van roof.
This is the fan adaptor in place.
This shows the flat area for the roof lining to be fixed to.
There is a hole for the cable to be routed through.
You will also see roof of the van is also corrugated to give it strength so the fan adaptor is designed to fit around these.
Above the roof there is some small spaces pieces to make it easier to seal it all up.
To order one i’ll need a few details
Number of holes in the fan just to check they haven’t changed
Size of the inside of the fan again to check it hasn’t changed
The distance from the van roof to the roof lining
Thickness of the roof lining
If the roof has corrugations or not
colour of the interior ring (within reason)
With that info in place i’ll tweak the design and send the drawing over for you to check.
If all good then we can print it and send it back to you
Normal cost is £60 which will save you ALOT of hassle
